Oh yea...this may just be me...but im pumped..ive been readin..and searchn etc for this for a long time..and i finally found somebody who has already done the homework on it..Laptop LCD screens, the controller for them, the inverter, the osd board, all the connecting cables..and they run off of vga (pc output) or rca..you can hook em straight up to a dvd, ps2, whatever. and a 15inch screen with everything ready to plug up..is less than 300 bux.

Thats new stuff with warranty and everything (a year i think)

And the screens are top shelf..NEC, Toshiba, Phillips etc. Video will rock on em..thats why im so pumped.

right now i know hes got 13.3, 14.1, and 15.1 inch screens for under 300..if we can get like 25 in a group purchase..it may come down more.

Somebody hollar something at me :

sorry about the delay...i met him in a tech forum..(honestly dont remember which one) but, I dont know about how much it would be minus the screen..but yea..its a whole kit..all the connecting cables, power supplies..inverter boards for the lcds..controllers and osd boards..the worx..ready to install. And it will take a straight rca signal or a pc (vga) signal. I dotn think he has a site yet..all i have is his messenger contact and his email.

But he told me that if i got a group purchase together, he would go down even further on the price.

Ive tried to research all the pinouts and matchn em up and crap..but its a lot of drama..and I about give up..when i stumbled up on this guy..he alreay did the hard part..so its WELL worth 250-300 bux..(250 for the 13.3 :) )

Who needs a warranty? (:

All I need is everything except for the screen.
No point in buying an extra screen when I've got a few laying around.

If the price is right, I may be interested in buying an amount

I have the screen as well. I would just need the rest of the kit.

Carefull guys.  I bought one of these kits that looks similar to  the one pictured.  It didn't work, no shop could fix it for me and the guy who sold it to me didn't want to help. I had an Expen$ive paper weight sitting around.  Not to say that these are the same thing. But be carefull.

That is just a desktop LCD monitor without the shroud. You are better off just buying the monitor and loosing the shroud. And most desktop LCD monitors have component video in and some even have built in tuners. Look around there is a lot of 15-17 inch monitors for about $300 bucks. The power supply on most of them is a desktop unit with just one set voltage.

 PS.

just like Jay T said, be careful. This sounds to good to be truth!

well, first off, they are laptop screens....Second..there are only certian screens that you can use for this, because some are made just for the motherboard they are connected to. The ones that can be used, he has just matched the controllers, inverters etc for them. So just sayin `hey ive got a screen, make it work` is not gonna work...you have to have matched components.

Personally im ordering a 10.4 in soon so, if you wanna wait and see how it goes..ill let you know.

Laptop and desktop LCDs are the same they're just used on different applications. But it's a lot easier to just buy the monitor and loose the shroud. No matching of components and it's the same thing. This guy just found out which ones work with that board.

Take a look at this it has the same features you are looking for and more and is less than $350.

This is just one example I bet you can find one a lot cheaper on the Internet.
