I am new to this forum but have been reading up for the past few weeks. I have just purchased a complete Audio/Video system for my 2000 Ford Excursion. I have very little experience with installation of components, so Im sure you folks will be hearing from me often in the next few weeks, your help will be greatly appreciated. I do have a couple of questions to start. Below I have listed all the components I have purchased. My first concern is properly grounding/protecting and getting power to all these components properly. Can anyone suggest wiring, fuses, relays and any other install accessories needed to complete the install properly and safely. Exact part names, numbers and where to get them would be extremely helpful.  Also where to get power from? Again thanks ahead for any help. MikeG.

DVD player w/TV tuner, HiFi VCR, PSONE, New Head Unit (Clarion DXZ925), Infinity Kappa Basslink w/200Watt built in Amp, 2 headrest mounted 6" LCD monitors, 2 channel wireless headphones, FM Modulator, A/V switcher with 4 input 3 output all with separate remotes.

You will need:

  • 16 - 20 feet of 4 guage power cable
  • 3 feet of ground cable
  • (6) sets of RCA cords
  • (5) sets of video cords
  • AGU Jumbo fuse holder with 40 amp fuse
  • 70-1771posted_imageFORD/LINCOLN/MAZDA 1998 - INTO CAR/16 PIN Metra Part
  • 99-5802posted_imageFORD FSERIES TRUCK/EXPEDITION 1995-UP Includes rec
  • 30 feet 18 gauge primary wire
  • 1 - 5 pin 30/40 amp relay

Above is a good start to what you will need but there will always be something you will need extra as far as connections go. Some of the items I'm not sure how many inputs and outputs they have so I tried to estimate the amount of gear you have and the minimum amount of cords needed.
