I bought this lot off ebay last week and I would like to test that it all works before I start taking out my other head unit. So today I picked up a 12V car battery from the scrap yard for a tenner for this testing purpose, and so far I have successfully had the DVD player working and playing.

I would also like to test the monitor but have been unsuccessful so far. The top of the monitor input box says:

Red – Acc
Yellow – Battery
Blue – Remote Out
Black – Gnd -

So I tried connecting the yellow to the battery positive, and the black to the battery negative but nothing happened..

Does this cable have anything to do with it? It came with the lot but was not connected to either device. Its just a cable with 3 wires in and a black box on the end of it. I feel it may be some sort of safety feature which is stopping the screen coming on.

Sorry I know its a lot but if anyone can I help I would really appreciate it!

Cheers

you have to connect the red and the yellow to the + battery and the ground to the - if you want to test it

like what carguy411 said, you have to connect the red and yellow wires together and ground out the black wire and it should work fine on your spare battery
