i am installing a double din dvd,cd,cdr, cdr etc... player in a 2004 nissan pathfinder se with a built in amp. i wired the unit up and connected it to the car and i got no sound?? i rewired it and hooked up the "amp turn on wire" to the 12volt power supply and this time when the unit was turned on i got a click from the stock amp and a pop from the speakers but still no sound?? so i took the unit into my house and hooked up to a spare car battery and a speaker i had and i got sound fine through the speaker? im not sure if there is something i have to do to bypass the amp or if i need a different kind of harness?? please help if you have any ideas!!! thanks

Is it bose? If it is then you will be rewiring it.

Here is DEI's notes and wiring for the audio.

Usually a radio cannot wire directly to bose amplifiers.

Some manufacturers make an adapter harness to go from aftermarket to bose.

If you can, ask your buddy how he got it to work and if he had to get an adapter harness.
