i was wonder if i can use it as a stand alone unit and also where i can get a remote for it or can i use a universal one

Hi...I had the exact same unit...you will need a brain or central unit to operate that video unit...depending on the brain unit itself, you will more than likely get a remote with it

Have you tired going to Pioneer's website to look for the remote for the unit...?
