To power my cd receiver I setup a fuse tap on the winshield wiper fuse and was wondering if it would cause any problems if I used that same line to power an indash lcd?

dont do it, just run a fused 12v wire from the battery. It's too easy

Where on the battery would I connect the wire?

on the power side..aka red post...depending weather it top or side mount you could just make some space and stick it in..

Ok, thanks. Just out of curiosity, what would happen if I had the lcd and radio connected to the same line? Would I just run the risk of overloading it?

If you run a wire to the battery, say 16 gauge, and prperly fuse it you should have no problems running both off that wire.

Sorry for the confusion, I meant would it cause an overload if I hooked up the lcd the the wiper line that I'm already using to power the head unit?

If you pull your dash apart you can probably grab +12 volts from the ignition harness.

Why not just use the +12 volts for the radio?

Should not be that much of a power drain but check the spec's on the instructions to see how much it auctually draws. Could save you some time from trying to feed primary wire through the firewall.

Thats the question I was asking, if there would be any problem hooking up a radio and lcd to the same +12v source. The lcd draws 8W.
