computer in car?

i have an ivad300 alpine. i also have a mac g4 powerbook. i have a car. and i have a problem. i want to put my laptop into the car and be able to interface it with the touch screen controls on the d 300. is it possible? should i bother? is this even the right forum for this?

I am not familiar with the screen your talking about, but in general..it would need to have an output for touchscreen control, which is usually USB. As for the video, if your going to connect it via composite (RCA), the resolution will no be good. It also depends on your mac..what kinds of video out do you have. Most if not all macs dont have a 15pin VGA output, they have a specialized video output for mac screens. If you do have an RCA out for video, quality aside it will work and you can always get a wireless keyboard and mouse if the touchscreen is not compatible. It is much easier to get a PC in the car then the mac because your limited..but thats the price you pay for going mac..check out www.logicsupply.com..they have lots of parts for car PC's

Thanks for the reply. No output for touch controls that I know of. It does have multiple video outs including 15 pin. The resolution is adjuxtable from the mac. I have displayed the computer screen via rca and could read everything fine. I was just hoping to get touch csreen controls.
