Question, I am planning on installing a flip down lcd screen in an explorer, In order to hear the sound I need to install an fm modulator right? If I just want the people in the back to use headphones but at the same time I want to listen to the radio how would this work? Is it possible? Help please any suggestions are appreciated.

Yes if you want to have the audio come over the speakers in your car you will need an FM modulator....

If the Monitor is IR (Infrared) Ready....

Then you are set to go...You may have to split the audio signal to plug up the FM Modulator....

If the monitor is not IR ready....

Then you will also need to purchase an IR Unit and IR headphones.....The IR Unit will plug into the DVD Player (you will need to split the Audio signal by what ever means necesary) And then mount the IR unit out in view so that the Headphones can see it when they are in use...{Put on a set of the headphones and move around to find out where a good place to mount the IR Transmitter is}

If I am wrong or have missed anything then plz chime in...But thats all I can think of..

what about being able to listen to the radio while listening to the dvd at the same time

if you split it off the back DVD player 1 to the FM modulator and 1 to the IR headphones the headphones will always play DVD no matter what you do with the radio..
