Hello, I am new to the boards and new to installing mobile video. I do however have some electronics background. I have a Pyle PLTVD700 DVD/TV tuner, and a Clarion VMA6491 monitor. I am installing it into a 1997 Ford Expedition. Where is the best place that I can get power to these 2 items from? Can I run them bot off of the same wire? From my research I have found that the BLACK/ green wire in the ignition harness is the accessory lead. Does anyone know if I have the correct info? Also wondering what guage wire is best for these electrical components. And last but not least, if you really dont think I should be attempting to install something like this with such little knowledge and think I am better off having it professionally done, let me know. Hope to get some feedback from you guys!!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!

You would want to use the GREEN/ PURPLE wire for your switched ignition wire. The BLACK/ GREEN is your second Accessory wire that controls radio, wipers & other items in the truck. You will need to grab the YELLOW wire for the constant power and then you will need to be able to use the factory amplifier for the speakers. There will be a BLUE wire on the OEM harness adaptor that will not have anything going to it. Take the remote turn on lead of the Pyle and attach it to this wire to engage the OEM amplifier . You will know if you need to when you are ready to power everything up and you have no sound.
