I have a 2005 Tahoe with the factory installed Panasonic DVD player system. I am trying to have it play DVD copies for my 4 year old, but so far, all efforts have failed. Does anyone know the exact model number of the installed unit or has anyone managed to play a backup on this thing? If you have had success, what type of blank DVD's did you use?

My friend has this exact vehicle...We have not been able to get Backups to work in it either....We used DVDSHRINK to make the backups and they play in every DVD player exept the one in his Tahoe...We have used DVD+R / DVD-R discs and nothing seems to work...

We have tried 5 different Burning progs with no luck as of yet...If you find out what to use send me a Private Mesage plz I will do the same for you...

alot of dvd lasers are finicky about copies.. i know my older home set top dvd player doesnt play coppies for anything, and id figure that since this dvd player is in a car, chevy wouldnt spend the money to do testing to make sure it plays burned dvds cause that requires a stronger laser and better alligning.

Ive made some progress. My friend has burned me two disks that play fine, but I have yet to duplicate his sucess myself with my burner, a Sony, using the exact same media and software. Thus Im thinking his Toshiba Model SD-R5372 is the deciding factor. I'm looking to get one of these drives locally for a test of my own. Its a 16x DVD burner that runs for about $60 online.

If anyone else has this access to this drive, please try it out and share your results.

We are using Nero 6.6.0.8

Just tested an HP DVD Writer 400c at work and it also worked in my truck. Progress!!!
