I've got a Kenwood DV4100 installed in a 2004 F-150, and it seems to be working with the exception of one thing: when in route, and the route is "hi-lited," the vehicle is shown on the road in the right spot, but the route hi-lite never dissappears from behind the vehicle indicator, and it seems that the navigation system doesn't "think" that the vehicle is en-route. No route guidance is given, either, due to this fact.

I've tried re-calibrating until I'm blue in the face, getting the vehicle icon point-blank on the road, etc., to no avail.

Any ideas?

Do you have the VSS hooked up? Mine behaved this way before I was finished hooking everything up.

Forgive me, VSS? Fill me in. (I paid to have this installed, and when I take it back, I want to be armed with good info...)

Thanks!

I think VSS stands for Vehicle Speed Sensor. Not sure of the details of it, but I think it basically sends out an electronic pulse that is used to determine the speed of the car.

You have to hook up the VSS Wire for that to work
