Yes..It can be done. Do this on your personal DVD only..This advice is not for other reasons.

Get dvddecrypter and put the program in ISO read mode to create an image. The pioneer DVD is not encrypted contrary to info that is floating out there. I just use this program since it makes clean images. Assuming you have a Dual Layer DVD writer, buy dvd+r Dual layer media. I used verbatim's 3 pack from best buy for around $20. Burn the image to the dual layer media using DVD decrypter itself. It will do it fine. I use the DVD copy and the Pioneer unit works fine with no issues. Great if you are worried of scratches or theft..
