It is needed to understand that You will have to have a TOGGLE SWITCH to go from full navigation and gauges etc. to seperately having the ability to watch the movies. They accomplished this via 3 seperate relays being used to interrupt the stupid gyro from the brain unit.
They cut my GPS antenna, found through their own route, the relays in order to keep movie playing while in drive. So really who's gonna want NAVI while watching a movie anyways..... So give your local stereo installer the idea and let them run it through their workings because I have a full working dvd when in drive via a simple TOGGLE SWITCH and those 3 relays.

enjoy!!!!

**count me in**

I think the real question is, "who needs to watch a movie when your using NAVI?"

Of course, the answer to the second question is: the wife and kids on long road trips.

How about just buying a DVD player, forget about all the hacking and by-passing, and keep all your functions and still be able to use the latest maps?

Sounds like a big headache for me as an installer just to please a whiny customer who bought a unit with some adequate protection from driving...Why buy an expensive unit just so you can hack it up and make it illegal...

Oh well thats all I am gonna say..

I bought my Avic N1 for navi and MP3 features. That was stollen so I had to get the N2 which is all messed up compared to the N1. I hear the new Clarion Nav/ entertainment unit is much better and uses a hard drive.

The beauty of this country is that people get to make decisions for themselves. Or in this case should be able to make this decision. Regardless why you bought the unit you should be able to do what you want with it.

I also think people should use head sets if they insist on using their cell phones. I think that conversations in the car cause the same amount of distractions as using a cell. I also think driving mad is just as bad as driving after a few drinks.

Many people still do these things and no one here is telling them they are stupid for doing that, but you insist on telling people how stupid they are for trying to enter directions while they drive.

This will probably be the next law passed concerning driver interference.
