I am new to the arena and need some assistance. I was at a car show and came across a vehicle that had a monitor in each headrest as well as the passenger's visor. From that moment on I have been trying to put together the pieces needed to do this for my husband's SUV (2002 Misubitshi Montero Limited).
So far, I have acquired the following equipment:Clarion MSS 7100 - Audio/video switcher, Clarion TV Tuner TTX7101 (purchased off ebay with no antenna), Farenheit removable DVD player (it can us AC/DC power - it comes with powercord for inside usage). I located on ebay a 7.2" Power Acoustik monitor that attaches/detaches from the headrest which requires no permenant attachment, and lastly I am alway purchasing clarion wireless headphones for the system.Later, after I finish this project I am thinking of installing a navigational system (Pioneer AVIC 90dvd). I know I'm ambitious, but I am determine to at least install the video system. But being a novice I obviously have a few questions.1. What other components do I need to install the system to my husband's CD and AM/FM radio system already installed in his SUV (2002 Mitsubshi Montero Limited)? For example, do I need additional wiring components.2. Should I install the navigational system at the same time or wait? Is the navigational system easy to install? Is it similiar to installing a stereo system?3. How do you run the power cords and audio/video cords to the back of the vehicle to the audio/video switcher and how do you hook it up to the speakers. How do all of these devices receive power? Is there another component I need to connect them into prior to acquire power from the vehicle's power source?4. I thought about going to a car installation center, however, they wanted to sell me their products then charge me for installation as well. This is not feasible for me since I already have my switcher and dvd player. Any assistance you give me in this matter will be appreciated.Thank youAngelique

If you are not the lead dog, your the view never changes.ok..all of the power cords, will look for 12V constant, remote/switched and ground...
you can grab the 12V constant in the igntion harness...that's where I usually do since it has more power..however, running that many compnents you should out a relay in...
Remote/ switched, can be grabbed behind the radio..or you can run a new wire all together and put a switch on it...
Ground...metal body part..
As far as the Nav. System goes...it'll be the easiest to install...all you might have to do is run an antennat outside...and that's doubtful..it probably plugs into teh factory anyway...but you might wanna do that first..since it'll probably be palced in the area where the factory radio is...Plus you can grab your 12V and switched with the radio out...and I gotta check on the Nav unit..it probably has a remote line..so you won't have to grab switched..just put a relay on it...which is easy...not to mention...to hook the audio part of the theater system up..you need a radio with Aux. Inputs...and last time I checked no factory radio had them...
As far as running the power wires, and RCA's and stuff back...under the carpet...make sure they will clear all screws..
and if you want...I can send you a diagram as to how to hook it up...I'll do a little more research tonight on all of the components...

youy need an rf module or fm module what ever to have the sound come out of the radio .

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
I own a few of your products, plus understand how to hook up a Pioneer AVIC-90DVD to non-pioneer equipment. One problem you are going to have is TTX7101 is a 2 source A/V switcher in addition to TV tuner. It does the same job as the MS7100 5 source switcher, but it only has 1 output. The MS7100 might be overkill for TV tuner, DVD player only. If you simply want 3 source switching then it might be easier to use a Pioneer CD-VS33 switcher. If you do end up using the MS7100 you will want to mount the switcher in central location of your SUV (probably under one of driver or passenger seats) to keep the TCS101 control cable runs in distance. To answer a couple of your questions.
1. For a remote control to operate the TTX7101 you will need CCA-379 remote kit. If going with the Pioneer AVIC-90DVD you will need to use CD-RGB26P for composite video output. The TTX7101 has a FM modulator built-in so you won't need a extra FM modulator for audio.
2. Navigation system will require you mount a GPS antenna on the dash and also locate a speed pulse wire. Not so easy, but you can use Rostra Precision Controls web site to help you locate the VSS wire. Other than that it is very much like installing a stereo.
3. & 4. This is really tricky stuff to install together and it would be best to understand how it all operates in order to hook it up for the best results. For example if your going to use the TTX7101 output for your front monitor you probably won't want to use a TCS101 controller up front. Instead hook your DVD player into the VCR1 input to both the TTX7101 and MS7100. Another option would be to use the TCS101 controller for the front monitor and plug the DVD player and TTX7101 TV tuner to the MS7100. You would leave the TV tuner in TV tuner mode all the time and NOT use the VCR1 and VCR2 input on the TTX7101.
