So who on this board has a car-PC / carputer and what hardware / software are you using?

I'm collecting my equipment for my install. Right now I have a year old motherboard with an intigrated VIA CPU and a stick of 512 ram on it. It has intigrated video and sound (though I my upgrade the sound) and a 40gb HDD.

I plan on getting a 7in touch screen within a week or two and then a start up controller and DC-to-DC psu in the following week, then a slim DVD-ROM and last a GPS mouse of some sort.

I'll get rid of my HU (hald decent JVC I picked up a few years ago).and just use the carputer for my audio.

I just need help picking the software. I'm trying to stick with free-ware, but I realize that I may have to pay for a decent GPS system.

I'm working on one.

Insight Mini ITX P4 mobo
Celeron 2.0 Ghz
256 Ram
120 Meg Seagate HD
Keypower 250 watt DC-DC PSU
CarPC EZ 2.4 SDC
New model Lilliput 7" LCD TS (just finished molding it need to take some pics)
Gyration Ultra RF Mouse and Keyboard

As for software, check out Frodoplayer. It does everything you need to do while on the road. Its very skinnable. The only thing I don't like about it is that the poor lonely guy calls himself Frodo Baggins. Pathetic. What he obviously lacks in a social life he makes up for with his programing though.

As for GPS I just got iGuidence. I've tested it on a laptop and it works really good. It can also run embedded in Frodoplayer.

I have a few more parts on order, they should be here next week. Then all I have to do is strip the Jeep and install it. I'm gonna redo my stereo wiring and lay sound deadner on everything while am at it. Hopfully it can all be done in one weekend.
