i purchsed the ai-net to RCA adapter, however the
CVA-1000 will not display this as a input source. what have i missed? do i have to enable the ai-net port as an input source? if so, how??
thanks in advance
bruce
The only way to get a "source" into the CVA1000 is to use a KCA801b that will give you an audio in - It WILL NOT display anything on te display .. in fact how you access it is to go to the CD Changer source - the changer will be playing - but the audio will be gone - instead it will be the "other" source -IE playstation / MP3 /DVD audio
Video is avail through another input adaptor -
Hope that helps
thanks guys,
after messing with the blasted thing for an hour or so, i finally got audio in through the ai-net port. i had to set the switch to EQ/DIV adn turn the NFP on. however i do not have volume control. if the volume is at 0 i hear nothing. if it's at 1 i hear the PS2, after i turn the volume up some more i'll hear the radio over the PS2. WTF it's as if the unit is just being a pass through. i've not given up yet, i'm just at a dead end as far as my understanding of alpine goes. this is my first alpine piece of equipment. what a good choice i made. i think i shoud save some cash and look for a cva or iva with real A/V in's. but i have not given up hope yet.
thanks again for all your help
i called alpine and they finally figured out i have a cva-100E. this unit is aparentlly the "lame ass" version. so i cant do waht i wanted to do. i need a changer. after i have the changer i can wire in a relay so i can switch the audio portion between the changer and an input source.
What a PITA
thanks to every one who helped on this, especially Alpine Guy.
