I am installing an Alpine DVA-5205 to an Alpine CVA-1005 both of which I have bought 2nd hand without wiring instructions. My problem is that the DVD will not reconise the remote so I cannot set it up. It did'nt come with a Magic Eye although there is an input on the back. Must I obtain a magic eye or is there a way of wiring to CVA-1005 so that I can use the 1005 remote to control the 5205 as I have done with the Alpine TV Tuner- would the magic eye from the TV Tuner which I don't use be compatible with the 5205?

I bet the IR magic eye from the TV tuner will work.  Give it a try...
