Ok,
I have a 915 that I am trying to wire into my truck. Upon reading over the book that comes with the unit I find myself with more questions then answers (kenwoods not very good about detailed info)... On the wire connection page it shows two wires with the following descriptions. Wire#1 (blue) power control wire - When using the optional power amplifier, connect to its power control terminal. Wire#2 (pink/black) external amplifier control wire - To "EXT.AMP.CONT." terminal of the amplifier having the external amp control function. My question is what is the difference between these two wires? I currently have the #2 wire connected to my amp's to turn them on/off with the head unit and wire#1 I have connected to my rear seat monitors power wire so they will also come on/off with the head. Would this be correct ???
wire 1 remote turn on
wire 2 used for kenwood amps old excelons had power sliding doors you could open from kenwood deck with this wire.
If it works the way you have it now it should be fine. how many monitors do you have hooked to it 2 should be fine if you have more maybe put a relay on it
Thanks for the fast reply,
I am running two 6.5" monitors in the back, BTW I also have the TV antenna getting power from this line. Am I at risk of cooking the brain by running this from the remote wire?
I would probably put a relay on it better to be safe then sorry.
