I have been in deep sh!t with the pioneer AVIC-N1 since yesterday. I was a loyal pionner AVIC fans until then.

My friend gave me an AVIC-N2 DVD cos he said it would update my N1. It upgraded the N1 to N2 but My address search, proximity search, freeway search were gone NO MATTER when the lock up function is ON or OFF. I cannot go back to N1.

Besides that, It brought the unbypassable lock up. Again, I don't give a sh!t about video. I don't even watch it while I am parked. But the Navigation lock up is really unbearable. I am serious even if you find this funny.

SO I did some research on the internet and found out there is no solution to that. I took out my N1 and properly installed the Ebrake wire. The "Improper ebrake install warning" still comes up. And I still can't do any searches no matter if it is locked or no.

Anyone who updated N1 > N2 can do address searches and stuff? (when ebrake is on).

AVIC-N1/N2 - Watch Video and Die while you drive. End of story. Navigation Inputs while Driving are LEGAL. (State Law).

Micro, no offense but why don't you stop making new threads about the AVIC's and either try using your already existing ones or one of the 50 that already exist. Jeff made a sticky thread to help cut down on duplicate threads about the same thing. We all get the fact that you don't like the navi lockout. For your benefit I am attaching Jeff's sticky thread for you to review. Have a great day!!!

Jeff's hard work...wasted????

mirco, if what you told me is true.

Just sell your unit on ebay, and buy another one-making sure it hasven't been upgraded to N2, your gonna loose some time and money but get back your N1 unit which you 'were' loyal to. Just do it, order one, and have urs up on the mean time, can't loose more than 2-400 hundred i'd guess.
