I have installed the above unit on my existing Pioneed AVH-P6500DVD.  I have a 2002 Durango

Installation seems good, no errors at all.

I have 2 problems:

1- There is a pink wire which should be connected to the Vehicle Speed Detection Circuit as per the Pioneer Manua.  so I attached it to:

VSS Wire: LOCATION 11- WHITE 32 PIN CONNECTOR OF PCM POSITION B27
VSS Wire Color: WHITE/ ORANGE OR BLUE/ORANGE
VSS Pulse: 8000

Anyway, when I start the unit, the displays look great, but I get SENSOR LEARNING in the middle of the screen and it just stays there?!?

I also cannot calibrate the TACH as per the instructions.  So I am thinking, should that pink wire be connected to the VSS or the below TACH VSS?

VSS Tach Wire: LOCATION 11- BLACK 32 PIN CONNECTOR OF PCM POSITION A7
Tach Signal Wire Color: BLACK/ GRAY

2- The second problem...  I get a good satellite signal, but I am not getting the Positioning, speed, acceleration and all the other display?  basically all the displays are just blank!! I dont get any errors but I dont get any data, just fancy images.

Any help is appreciated...  it seems I am the first one to install this unit in this country...  noone knows about it!

OK, I connected the pink to the TACH VSS...  wrong wire...  the info was not correct.

I also found their is a 3rd wire called OUTPUT Speed Sensor...  maybe that is the correct wire?

I still cannot get out of the Sensor Learning mode (and in the setting it is always stuck on INITIALIZING)...

I also have a problem with the useless instructions on RPM (Tachometer) CALIBRATION...  I Cannot get it to work!!!

Has anyone installed such a unit before?

Please help!

OK, I know I am talking to myself in the hope that someone who knows something about this will reply...

I figured something is wrong...  it seems the TACH responds to the level of Sound...  the higher the sound, the higher the RPM showing on the screen !?!?!

Here are the wires that come as part of the unit..:

  •  Yellow - Terminal always on
  •  Red - to electrical terminal controlled by the ignition switch
  • Black - ground
  • WHITE/ black - negative pole of Front left speaker
  • grey/black - negative pole of front right speaker
  • Pink - "Vehicle's speed detection circuit"
  • Violet White - Reverse Light
  • Light Green - Parking Break

That's all the wires!!!  where do you think the RPM Reading comes from?  of of the above wires has been installed in the wrong place...  could it be the speaker wires that produce the RPM reading?  this is driving me mad!!!
