Pop up 7" video monitor

I have a 2002 Hyundai Sonata and I'm looking to build a mini-console that will fit between the rear of the center console and the front of the back seats.  I am looking to install a 7" monitor within the console and have it be able to slide up when being used and slide back down into the console when not being used.  Is there a way that this can be done?  The console I'm building will be no taller than 12" and it will mount to the "hump" on the floor.  The design of the console will depend greatly on how I will be mounting the monitor in it.  My main goal is to create something that's stealthy, as well as keeping the monitor out of the way when not in use so it won't get broken.

Any suggestions would be great!!!

Use a power antena, cheap and effective an can easly move the LCD.  You can use 2 antenas 1 on each side of the LCD or 1 antena and attach it to the back on the LCD (center it).

I remember seeing that episode, but will all that fit in the console that's only going to be no more than 12" high?

The antena mod has been used by car audio installer for fake panels and to pop up things for a long time.

I guess a small motor (like 5V or 12V) like Rc motor could be setup wih some fishing line (or thin steel cable) to make it move and it would be more compact.  nothing else comes to mind (linear actuators re overkill here plus very very expensive as compared to a motorized antena).  I'll keep checking for ya.

Pyramind (no bad comments please).  Has the AE46 which is 13.5" when closed so if yuo can get 1.5" inch on the console you are home free.

Flush it into the top of your console and make a nice cover to for the back of it to match your console and this would make a sweet looking piece...
