I want to put a slim ps2 in my car. I know you need a power inverter to get it running also I know it is 8.4v and runs 5.? amps. What kind of inverter can I use? A regular 12dc or no? If i do will something burn up? I read some other posts but I can not get a real answer. I read about getting voltage regulator or something? The main question I need answered is "How can i get the slim ps2 powered" and so i don't have to blow so much money to get it done

I bought a lil ac / dc inverter from Circuit city whatever in the 40$ price range, cut the cord off and wired it into a ignition power source.  Just plugged the ps2 into that.

you can use a purpose-build PS2 slim adapter, no need to use inverter

INTEC G7690 PS2® SLIM COMPACT CAR ADAPTER

you caa take apart and hard wire into your car, so you do not have to use cig lighter

there are other manufacturers of these adapters
