What's up all...
Well I got a trim bezel finished up for a 9" Lilluput I have and I desoldered the remote eye in order to move it to the lower right hand corner of the bezel. Well after resoldering everything I could not get it to work all but once. I'm not sure what is wrong but I don't have time to figure it out.
I have ordered another one and I'm just going to make a window with plexi/plastic where the remote is which you can see I have started to do in the lower center of the bezel.
The reason that I didn't just incorporate the remote eye from the very begining is because the lower portion of the lcd bezel slopes out about 1/4" and I had to shave this all down for a flush look.
So... I've got a brand new Lilliput 9" tft lcd w/tuner that is not touchscreen nor VGA... to get rid of.
With shipping from Hong Kong I paid $234 for it no more than two weeks ago which is reflected in my eBay feedback.
Basically... make me an offer if you'd like it.
Also, any input to what the eye isn't working. I'm not a soldering novice... but no expert either and I'm damn frustrated about it.
See pictures below...

Without seeing before, are you 100% sure that you have the pins correct in aspect to the board?

Always check info with a digital multimeter.
I promise to be good.
Tell Darwin I sent you.
I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.

Yea, I tried them both ways... the thing that gets me is that it worked for a second or two and then just stopped. I changed the remote battery also.
I did a hack soldering job at first because the tip I was using was beat up... I think that the heat from this intitial soldering might have messed the eye up or something.
I went to radio shack and got a new needle tipped, 15w, and grounded soldering iron... desoldered everything and then redid it. It wouldn't be the wires I'm using would it? It's just standard copper hook up wire?
Thanks for the reply.
try soldering it back to the board to see if you can get it to work again. if not you might have burnt up a trace.

Is the trace something associated on the board itself or within the remote eye. Can it be fixed?

Tell me... Is a trace (metal) that runs from the remote eye soldering points on the board to another area on the board? If so... can it be fixed.

yes it could be fixed. if you can see where it is broken there is a pen that will lay down a repair.think they just call it a trace pen, pretty cheap.
Thanks man... I've got to take a look at that board.
