I had the AVIC-D1 installed a few days ago and I love it. Bypass even works :) I removed my old Sony 10 gig hard drive stereo. It's the MEX-1HD. I really miss the music I had stored on it. Is it possible to hook it up to the D1 through the audio in and outputs on both units? Maybe use it like an MP3 player??? I realize I wouldn't have any control over the Sony since the only place to mount it would be under the seat or in my trunk. That's okay. I would let it play everything at random like I did before. What do you think? Possible? The guy who installed my D1 said it couldn't be done as the 2 radios would 'conflict'.

hey guys.

Absolutely CAN BE DONE.  SONY RCA out to PIONEER RCA in.  I did this with my laptop using a 1/8-to-rca adapter that cost $10.  all you need is $5 rcas to be really trick!
