I have a 7" Boss headrest monitor that stop working. I traced it to a blown fuse. I'm new to this but what is a F1AL 250V. Its a barrel type fuse. What happen to 5A, 10A etc. Hope I'm not dating myself. What can I replace it with.

I did a search at Radio shack and it didn't come up with that number.

Thanks ahead for any replies.

hi,

how's about a description of the fuse. glass or plastic, dimensions & shape, soldered to the board or in a holder?  i'm sure we can find a suitable replacement given a bit more info.

Thanks for the reply Mark,

Glass, barrel type in a fuse holder.

I went buy a local install shop and he gave me a 1A fuse.

It doesn't have the exact same markings.

I'm surprised it's only 1A, anyway I rather blow the fuse than the monitor.

If it does blow again can it be too small of a fuse?? I believe the draw is low.

I replaced the fuse it now powers up but all I get is a white screen.

Does that mean the monitor is blown??

one input thru a fout output video amplifier.

The other monitors still work fine...any ideas.

Something caused the fuse to blow. Whatever that was caused the monitor to go bad.

auex,

Is it worth getting a estimate to repair the monitor. Any ideas?

Cost $125 a year ago, the picture was good enough for the kids.

I would have to buy a matching set if I can't fix this one.

What do you think.

Thanks
