Hello, first of all I want to say that this forum is great.  I've learned so much just reading what the users of this forum have been through and ways around whatever, thanks!

I ran a search for the location of the VSS wire on my 98 Grand Marquis.  It stated that it was Gray/Black Pin 58 PCM, under left side of dash.  Can anyone add to this location, as far as if theres trim covering this location/wire?  Also, if anyone has any information as to how I can find the wire for the reverse signal I would greatly appreciate any information.

Thanks again!!

Ok, I installed the AVIC-N2 and GEX-P10XMT before new years heading up to New York.  It worked great, tracking was just about perfect and I never got lost.  I read somewhere on this forum that if you don't connect the speed pulse wire that the tracking on screen will not move?  Well, I do remember connecting a BLACK/ Gray wire in my wiring harness, which is what I read the color of the speed pulse wire should be.  Even without having this wire (VSS?) connected, the system appears to work just fine.

Now, I noticed that I'm not getting an actual speed pulse or a reading from the 3D detection scale.  I will be searching deeper later today and report back with my findings.  Any information that anyone is willing to share about the location of the VSS wire would be appreciated.  Again, this is for a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis LS.

THANKS!
