well still nothing from the monitor. can't get it out of safety mode. the only thing i think the kid screwed up was the foot brake and parking brake wires. must of bypassed.i couldn't get the video on, any ideas guys? i'm figuring he burnt them by direct short. thankx in advance ------------- JUST ONE MORE AMP!!!

does anyone know about the older 3 piece alpine dvd,monitor and brain. i never got the plessure to incounter it when it was out. and the norm for the safety feature is not working. just wondering if i miss something. tried alot of serniro's to try to get it to work with no avail. just want to make sure before i deside to start to take the time to diagnous the board if i don't have to. limited on time. thankx

i had the same setup in my car before, i just connected all the wires like normal and the dvd if i remember had the parking brake wires also which i just tied in with the brain ones.

well there are two brake wires one for the e-brake and one for the foot brake. and believe require and neg, pulse and constant. what do you mean by tie into the brain? they origanate from the brain. e-brake=yellow/blue, foot brake = yellow/blk ------------- JUST ONE MORE AMP!!!

yup, it has a two-wire safety. one to hand brake (ground), another to foot brake (power). if wired correctly, you have to depress and hold the foot brake and then pump the hand brake up and down 3 times (leaving it up) before you can let go of the foot brake for video to appear. maybe you didn't pump the required 3 cycles, foot brake was not depressed for the entire routine, etc. however, i think you would get the generic warning instead of a blank screen. are you getting a blank screen???
