I have purchased 1 (one) CNDV 50MT disc (West Coast) for my "older" AVIC 80 nav system using a AVH6500DVD HU. After doing so, I'm wondering if I am going to need BOTH discs for an upgraded display. Will I have the need (or requirement) to have both discs? Apparently I purchased too quickly since it's ver 1.1 I think I should have been looking for ver. 1.2, but oh well...

You only need one to upgrade. You will not be able to use the old disks though so if you ever travel to states only covered on the east coast disk, you will need to purchase a CNDV50MT east coast disk as well
