My daughter has a 2002 suburban LT, on-star equipped, rear seat audio controls, delco radio model 15071234. It has a cassette tape drive factory mounted seperate from the main unit, which she doesn't use now. Can I remove the cassette drive and install a dvd player and use the same tape input into the factory radio for sound, then run from dvd player to a lcd screen? Want this allow the grandson to watch and listen to dvd moves thru headphones on the rear seat audio controls , by selecting the aux button, while still allowing parents to listen to radio up front? Is it possible? What type of dvd player will fit best? What kind of wiring harness adaptor from dvd to main radio is needed? Is it available? Has anyone tried this?
Thanks
ok. i thnk i understand what your saying, however it was a little confusing more in your wording than anything else, but if i am understanding you correctly then id say your best bet through doing what u are trying to do would be to buy an in dash dvd player that has a rear source or dual zone capability. then if u want hook up some sort of rear monitor for you grandchild so he can listen and watch what he wants and yall listen to wut u want. if you do decide to go this route you can get the dash kit, wiring harness, and antenna adapter you need through metra, or if you cant find it ive got em.
