I had a sound store install my Pioneer AVIC-D1 in my Ford F-150. The radio works but I can't use the navigation options.  Even when I am parked with the parking break set --- I can't input addresses; set options; or even set the clock..... What could be the problem?  The map displays and shows where I am currently going.... But all other options are locked out all the time. Is there a bypass for this D1?

thanks

tim

Here's the money question, did he even hook up the parkbrake wire?

What year is your F-150?

Look under the drivers side dash for a lt.green wire going towards the parkbrake area.

Extreme1 ---

Not sure if he hooked up the parking brake wire or not?  I'm thinking he didn't because...... Even if my F150 is parked in the driveway and I depress the parking brake...... I still am locked out of the navigation options.....

My F-150 is a 2002 supercrew.....

I'll look for the light green wire going to the parking brake

If you want to see if the parking brake is connected properly, there is a hardware screen in the AVIC-D1. It will show you the current state of the parking brake, so you can set it and unset it to see if it is working or hooked up properly. You can also see the speed sensor. This is how I discovered that my installer never installed these two wires in my truck.

This is not a special debug screen, it is on the main menu - sorry, not home and can't check the exact menu, but its in the manual.
