GPS tracking/info

As far as I know there isn't a way to track the Magellan GPS navigation unit, but there might be information that I don't have, hence this quetsion. Today, I had someone break into my car. They stole my Laptop, Archos AV500 and Magellan GPS unit with the windshield mount, but left the Bel Rx65 Pro radar detector to my surprise. Needless to say how upset I am, I would liketo know if there is a way to track the device by any chance. I dont think it sends out any signal to be tracked.    The unit does have a serial number/ID.Is there any way I can have it tracked? The archos Av500 has no internet nor satellite, so thats a "gone case" for me. THe laptop can be recovered (I hope) when the thief goes to the internet. My most important concern is the GPS.   ANy info is appreciated.

you probably wont see it again sorry to say, only likely hood if they send it in to get repaired or upgraded.

It might sound a bit silly but really, I had some happiness to see my GPS get stolen. For a few months, I wanted to get the new GPS unit that had congestion-related auto rerouting, which my unit did not have. Now that it has gotten stolen with details in the hands of the police, and insurance company, I can buy the unit I like by getting whatever insurance I get plus adding some money on top if it, so in the end, I am a happy man. I registered the unit so I am goin to inform Magellan and whoever else can be of help tomorrow as well. If the unit goes for repairs, the sad people will not be too happy. Puns intended.
