Hey I have the Avic N1 and was wondering if I could purchase the discs for the N3 software and use them with my N1?
I know that it was possible when the N2 came out to use those discs for the N1, so is it the same deal with the N3? Or would the discs only work with the N3?

 Thanks

It will work.  You will get the new mapping and graphics.  You will not get the new ipod or xm display though. duckeith wrote:

So will it cause problems with driving while watching DVD's. I had to undo my N2 software on my N1. Will this N3 software do the same?

Some guy on ebay claims that he can go into the hardware and alter this device where its possible to use the n3 software and have no troubles. Anyone heard of this before?

I send to these guy 3 e-mails and didn't get any response. He's asking send unit to him, but if he didn't answer on any my e-mails who will take a risk send unit to him? Not me - for sure.
