hey all,

I have a Pioneer AVH-P7500DVD that has been in my 06 STI for about 3 mos. and before that in my Silverado for a couple of years. Just this morning, (after installing the Navigation add-on last night) the screen has started to flicker when the bass hits hard. If the volume is down, or the bass is down, there is no problem at all. The sub I am running is a Boston G5 12 powered by a JL 500/1.

any ideas as to what is going on here?

thanks for any help

Add a capacitor, and/or check all your grounds.

Grounds are good (.2ohm resistance) it isn't losing power, or blinking, I guess I should have been more specific.

it is lines that flicker on the screen (horizontal lines) and the picture distorts a bit around those lines.

I find it hard to believe that I would need a cap for this amount of power (although I have 2, 1-farad caps sitting here, maybe I'll try throwing them in)

I think you need to do the big 3.

Already done... added 4 gauge to the existing stock wiring. BTW no headlight dimming, or other ground/power related problems. I'm not running an insane amount of power in this car, (1 JL 500/1, 1 JL 300/4).

different hz yield the screen flickering in different spots too, but always the same spot at any given hz level (i.e. 60hz is always in one certain spot, and 100 hz is always in another certain spot)

this is so weird

if you unplug the rgb from the nav to the brain does the problem still happen? if not check the grounds to the nav, or possibly an interferance with the frequency with the nav, might try and loop the rgb through a ferite.

thank you for the reply!
By RGB I assume you mean the Bus cable? I will try that... didn't even think of it for some reason. I'll post back tomorrow with results.

The ground is good for the nav, it is grounded with the rest of my system. The problem persists when I have the screen showing things that aren't nav related as well.

also, what is a ferite?

thanks again

Ryan
