Just installed an Avic z1 in a 2002 Ford Excursion. On the initial boot up all seemed well untill I shut everything down and opened the door - the headlight chime started ringing (w/ no lights on).

Is anyone aware of what could cause this? As soon as I disconnect the battery wire the chime shuts off. As far as I can tell the unit is powered down (display black - no fans/drives humming away). I assume this can't be normal - its using the stock harness and existing battery wire that serviced the original radio chimelessly.

sure it's not door ajar chime? fords are notorious for failing door pins.

other than that, disconnect the avic and reinstall the factory, problem go away? something in the wiring you did then.
