My wifes car has a d1 in it and it keeps freezing when driving. I finally figured out that when the car hits 75mph the speed signal is either lost by the system or by the car. If you monitor the d1 on the status right when you hit 75 the meter just drops off. Anyone else have this problem with their d1? i have to meter the speed wire to see if its the wire or the d1 itself still. I tapped it directly from the ecu plug, i might try and hook it up on the drivers side wire instead since there is another location for the ss. Just seems very odd that its perfectly fine under 75. btw its a hybrid so im not sure if the car monitors the speed any differently at the computer.

i went to test the vss wire on the ecu that i tapped before i went and ran the wire to the cc module. I used my dmm on ac and i was getting an output that kept changing with the speed, and it did not drop the signal at 75mph, i did it in dc mode and the reading was about 3.2 volts constant and didnt drop off. I also was told to test the css wire by watching the signal go to ground, i tried that but my spedo went down to 0mph! so i stopped testing it that way, so for sure i know its the vss wire i tapped into. I just dont know why its losing signal at 75mph, since the wire still has perfect signal.

you don't have to hook up your vss wire for acurate navi tracking just use your gps antenna all you need to do is unhook the vss and clear you 3d calibration and let it calibrate to simply hybrid(no vss)
