i'm not sure why, but all of a sudden after almost a year of perfect operation (except in extreme heat), my pioneer avic-n2 navigation isn't working.

when i go to the hardware check, it says there's no GPS connection. so i pulled my carpet to check the brain and the wires, and everything is connected. I disconnected the GPS wire and reconnected, and still nothing. Do i need to buy a new antenna?

the manual doesn't help in the troubleshooting. i'm going to call pioneer tomorrow, but i was hoping to hear from your guys first.

I have an N1 and the same thing happened to me 11 months after I installed it. I sent it back to pioneer, and they claimed nothing was wrong with it and sent it back. Only it came back to me with a new gps antenna, so I hooked it up and everything worked again. My guess is that your antenna has a short somewhere in the cable, and it's going to be impossible to find. I would try a new antenna.

When I reinstalled mine, I mounted the antenna inside the car on the back by the window and it gets reception perfect withou being outside.
