VSS Wire Necessary?

I can not find information on the vss wire for 18-wheelers for the life of me.  If anybody could help me with this information that would be great.  If not I dont think ill will be able to hook up navigation to these vehicles without the vss wire hooked up.  Any input would be great thanks guys.

vss is not required but the unit will have be sluggish on knowing where it is. they also have devices available for cars like that, that dont have vss wires.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

go to any electrical seller buy a hi speed inductive proximity switch with a sourcing output find any rotating point after the gearbox and mount proximity switch this will give you positve pulse for each rotation if the nav system cant calibrate you will have to mount on axles
