Hello all,

I am about to embark on an installation of a combo dvd/flip pyle system. I believe the monitor is 6.5 inches. I have done a few flip down installation, but this one is different. This vehicle has a sunroof and these fords have an overhead air channel system. I wanted to know if anyone had done a similar installation and if so what precautions did you take to prevent the headliner from sagging. I am think if you put a piece of wood between headliner and roof it will make the headliner sag since the unit is not extremely light. To be quite honest the wood would be in the air channel and since it has a sunroof..it will be no way to secure the wood to the brackets attached to the roof. Any suggestions would be much appreciated...even if someone say stay away from the installation. There is only 200 in this job.

I had one of those, and I used sheet metal.  It's primarily for the screws to have something to grab and it's lighter than wood.  Be careful of  course to not screw through the roof of the car.  You might use the wood as a spacer until you get the video bracket screwed in.  However, the unit that I used was just a monitor with a remote DVD player.  I don't know how heavy your unit is, so good luck with it.
