Hi,

Know Im new here but Im trying to do the local hummer dealer a favor and install a Pioneer Avic-Z1 for a client in a 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha.

I used a metra 70-2103 harness the customer supplied, and the unit pwrs up but i only get sound out of 1 speaker.

I dug further and found that this hummer has a monsoon sound system. Amp model # 12249570.

Do I need to bypass this amp? If so what about the factory sub woofer?

The Hummer database is down and no one can access wiring diagrams for me.

And how important is the speed sense wire and reverse wire on this unit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Awesome web site!

Thanks in advance!

reverse wire only if you are useing a back up cam, but speed sense is a must

i have done a few H1s  i just bypass the monsoon sound system the amp is in the over head speaker houseing ,speed sence might be GREEN / WHITE behind the radio as far as the sub add an amp.

now i dont know if it is possible to turn on the factory amp im not sure if its data or not. i will make some phone calls for you tomorrow

-------------
bring back the rotary phone so i dont have to press 1 to proceed in english

Did you get that H1 system working?  We have one coming into the bay and I wanted to make sure it worked fine.  I have seen a few posting where people have used the standard GM harness.  Peripheral says the GMCO would work.

Thank you,

Curtis
