Just wondering where other people have mounted their source unit box thingies ( i hope you know what im talking about - its the box that is seperate from the head unit which u plug all of the inputs into). I have a 2002 F150, and  i was thinkin about either under the dash on the passenger side, in the center console, or under the passenger seat. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Depends on how big the thingy is. I have a Panasonic HU that has a small external power supply/speaker connection box and I mounted it under the dash to the right of the steering column (behind the trim piece that runs under the steering column). If you have one of the larger units, either mount it under the seat or possibly behind the glove box (there is some space in there).

Good Luck! posted_image

I have mounted my CPU for my AlpineCVA unit under the passenger side seat and built a bracket & cover to protect it from damages and from sight. As long as it has ventilation in the area that you are installing it in, you should be fine ( unless it does not have an amp built into it, then it doesn't matter where it is installed  as long as it fits )

Honda Odyssey

Velcroed to air duct, behind the dash, passenger side, above glove box.  Was able to use 1.5ft rca's.  Hope this gives you ideas.

If there is enough room you may be able to mount the box on the passengers front top of the dash.  The panel will pull right out and it is right behind the radio.
