I am unable to use the brake cable that my pioneer p5700 unit wants and i cant get the screen to come on. I have heard that if i just ground the wire it will work but im not sure and dont want to hurt the unit. can someone help me on this

It is illegal and unsafe to operate a motor vehicle with an operational video screen while the vehicle is in motion. What vehicle do you have with no parking brake?
