Avic D1 shows 256 volts, Navi won’t work.

Pioneer Avic-D1 in 2003 Acura CL

I am now on my second D1 causing me the same problems. Both worked fine at first, then just stopped working and started showing the following problems.

Under Diag screen,

Says VSS wire isn't connected, although it is, and was working correctly.

Randomly decided the GPS antenna isn't installed correctly, although nothing has changed.

Here is the biggest on the jumps out, it shows 256 volts! I know that is completely wrong, but it refuses to change.

Says the backup lead isn't working, although it is. Nothing changed, and I tested it as well.

Says there is a problem with the gyro, contact Pioneer.

The Navi will still show were I am, and plot out a trip, but the voice prompts no longer work.

I have double checked all my wiring over and over again. I know it was installed correctly in the first place, because everything was showing up correctly and working fine. When the first Avic crapped out on my I swapped it out at Best Buy, and everything was fine. Now my new one has started doing the same exact thing! The only change I made before the problem started was shortening the VSS wire.

Has anyone else seen these problems? I am sure I haven't done anything wrong, but what are the odds of two decks doing the same thing, if I haven't??

I have the warranty, but don't want to send it in if I can avoid it. Someone else has to have seen this, I can't be the only one.

Nobody has any clue on this, can I really be the only person to have this problem with TWO D1's.
