Hello 12 Volters,
I want to install a pair of Vizualogic A1000 “all-in-one” Headrests in my 2006 Honda Odyssey.
I have no problem with the physical equipment installation it’s just the wiring that I find a bit confusing, so I am going to lay out what I have gotten from the forums and hopefully you all can correct me and fill in some blanks.
Here’s what they sent me:
1. The A/V control box has a power harness with Black (Ground) Yellow (Constant 12V), Red (Switched 12V ACC), Green (Brake)
2. This harness is plugged into their “Inline Filter” black box
3. The Filter harness is plugged into their “power harness” which has the same wires, a fuse holder for the Yellow (5 A, 250 Volt Barrel Fuse), and a small black box (relay?)
So this is what I know:
1. Connect the red wire to a switched power source. Where is the best place to do this? It should have a fuse correct? If so what type and size are recommended? Also what gauge of wire do you recommend for the red.
2. Connect the yellow wire to the constant power source. Where is the best place to do this? What size, type of fuse should I use here? Should I use the same gauge wire for yellow?
3. Connect the ground wire to the metal of the chassis or body. Is there a specific spot near the fuse panel for this? What gauge of wire should I use for ground?
4. Do I need to connect the green wire to the brake as this installation cannot be viewed by the driver – will the system work if it’s not connected?
5. Vizualogic recommends the use of a main power switch for the system. What do you think about this – if it’s a good idea what equipment should I buy and how does it figure into the install.
6. Should I install a relay? If so what does it do for me, what type should I get and how does it figure into the install?
7. What type of connections do you recommend – solder, crimped etc?
My last question is on good stores – either online or retail where I can purchase the recommended items.
Any other tips, tricks and things to be careful with are appreciated!
Wow – sorry to lay out so long a message but hopefully it is all clear.
Sincerely
Jeff Romaniuk
Hello All,
I am installing Vizualogic Headrests in my 2006 Odyssey and I wanted to confirm what I should use for a relay.
I was thinking of a SPDT - 30 Amp
Seems like Bosch is reccomended by many
Wiring:
85 is ground
86 comes in from switched ACC power
87 comes in from 12 V constant power
30 goes out to power my headrests
Best way to "cap" pin 87a?
Does this all make sense?
What gauge of wire should I be using for this applicaition?
Thanks for all advice in advance!
Jeff

Hello All,
I am installing a set of Vizualogic A1000 headrests in my 2006 Odyssey and I wanted to know what type and size of fuses are reccomended for the 12 constant and switched power connections.
It sems that 5 amps should be good but I wanted to get some opinions.
Thanks!
Jeff
