I'm trying to install my Alpine Iva-D310. I have the GM 88- Up wiring harness and found that I needed to connect the remote turn-on wire to the pink wire on the second factory harness. I have sound and picture, but when I plug the GM harness into the factory harness, I get the chimes as if the alarm has gone off (you know the sound when you first start the car). The chimes don't stop unless I start the vehicle or I unplug the harness.
If anyone has any information please help me with this becuase I'm stumpped!

The 02 tahoe runs on a databus system so you need to use the databus harness for it scosche and metra both make one for around 100 bucks. This will retain the factory chime and also give you an accessory wire at the harness it needs to be used as the databus system controls things such as the ABS and airbag systems and if not used the dealership in some cases will not work on the vehicle anymore

Sorry, but that's not so. The data bus radio didn't come out until 2003 in the Tahoe.

I figured it out. I disconnected the illumination wire and I didn't have any more problems. I guess the illumination wire was grounding, or ungrounding the factory set up. Thanks for the help though!
