I was wondering if anyone had ever taken their n2 apart. If so, can you please give me some detailed instructions on how to get it apart. I don't want to pay $87 dollars for a service manual from pioneer and the torrent is taken forever. I have been trying to download it for a week and it only at 57%. So if someone could please provide me with detailed instructions on how to get the n2 apart.

I never had reason to disassemble an N2 but I do take head units apart often.

The procedure is always the same. Remove all the tiny phillips screws and store them in small plastic bags. Be careful and take your time. Also note which screws came out of where because they will occasionally be different lenghts or sizes for a particular need. Once the unit comes apart by gently prying the lid(s) you know you have got all the screws out. doesn't really get any simpler then that.

Hope I helped. Just keep in mind if the unit is under warranty there is a chance you may void it unless it can be reassembled with no clues it was taken apart by a non authorized repair center.

What kind of problem are you having with the unit?

He stated it is not downloading completly. That sounds to me more a software issue and I can't imagine being able to fix that if you can't even figure out how to remove the lid but...to each his own, maybe he'll get lucky.

or maybe he has privy to some technical info on that unit regarding this issue.

top of this web site has the directions on how to take it apart, though I've never done it myself either.

It comes apart easy, with some time. It all comes apart in 3 sections. Very easy.

If you need any help installing the cable ribbon from the touchscreen to the motherboard, PM me. I just got done doing all of that, including breaking a microswitch. (not fun)
