I have a Nissan 2006 Altima. I would like to add a monitor to the location above the radio. I do not have the factory nav system. All I have is a pocket where I want to place the monitor. I could put the DVD player in the center consol. My radio does not have the aux input so I also need to know if I could interface the audio from the DVD to the factory speaker system.

The only way your gonna get sound is thru an FM modulator. The basic Nissan radio(no Bose) has no aux inputs whatsoever...

Hi,

For what I have read on the new '07's Fortin looks to have a solution. It is really different than what we have had to deal with in the past. For what I make of it they are bypassing the push button start all together. They have instructions on the CAN-SL regarding installation. Interfacing with a module behind the instrument cluster and under the hood. Looks like quite a job compared to what it used to be.
The CAN bus modules are pretty expensive as I am told by my distrubutors. I was quoted almost $100 for it.
I was really hoping that this new developement for a CAN bus bypass would also be able to start the car as well. It may be a part that will soon be in development.
