Hello all,

I have a Pioneer AVIC-80DVD GPS system in my 06 Subaru STI. I did the install myself about 9 months ago, and have had no issues up until recently. I was using the system when all of a sudden, my car's placement on the map went way off track, and then finally just stopped. I looked at my GPS connection status, and it says that all of the connnections are good, but there are no satellites detected.

I have gone back and checked all connections, reset the unit, all with no improvement.

The GPS antenna is placed on the trunk lid, with a clear view to the sky.

can the antennas themselves go bad?
does anyone have any ideas for a solution?

thanks in advance...

Ryan

Yes, they can go bad. Replace your GPS antenna . Also relocate your antenna to inside your vehicle. The antenna works perfectly thru plastic and glass. In fact most or my nav installs I hide the GPS ant. under the center ofd the dash. This way there is no outside elements to factor.
