Hello all,

I have installed an underdash dvd player with built in FM Modulator that plugs into my lighter.  I also installed an overhead monitor.  When my vehicle (99 Suburban) is off, everything works great.  As soon as I start the car though, there is so much interference that the screen goes blank and displays "no signal".  Any suggestions on what to do in order to reduce the interference?   (I installed a high quality moble video cable thinking that might help, but with very little improvement)  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

get a power line filter 15amp and wire it in. should do the trick, if it doesnt double check where you got power and grounds from and maybe try new power sources.

Hey thanks for the response swerve.  Any idea where I can get one of the power line filters that you suggested?

big box stores usually have them in the car audio departments or you can try online

radioshack has them for use with CB radios.  also check to make sure your rca cable you used for the video signal is not a "twisted pair rca" or it will give you trouble similar to that.  make sure the video signal cable is run away from larger power wires and computer related devices (BCM, etc.) and away from the fuse panel.  and check for a good ground and that the power is full 12 - 14 volts
