I don't know if this was already discussed here. I tried to search. Didn't get enough info. I'm trying to hook up the Kna-dv4100 in a 1984 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I got the wire (VSS from the Trammy, color WHITE/ orange, etc.) But where do you tap into it ,close to the firewall?. Also where to tap the reverse wire. Any detailed info. Thanx.

You can tap into the VSS wire anywhere you want as long as the wire gives you a signal when the vehicle is in motion. The reverse wire will most like be tapped into in the loom of wires running along the driver's door sill and the wire color you can get from removing the tail light assembly and looking at what color the wire is at the bulb.

Hi, Jeff.

Would the VSS wire be behind the speedometer dial behind the dashboard? Is kind of hard to be looking under the hood. Does it followed the same color pattern from trammy harness to the dashboard? Thanx.

Sorry guys! But checking back, I've being away for a while, I put the wrong year. It's a 1994 JGC, not a 1984. If everyone can forgive me and give me some feedback. I'm planning to install it soon, as it's getting warm in NY now. Thankx. posted_image
