when i first installed it it was fine for a few days but every once in a while it works fine then goes out entirely. then goes and and then off.could it need a resistor inline with it to knock down the voltage. i remember it saying it worked on like 7 volts or something like that. is that possible , and is that y it goes in and out like that. i have to try to find the papers it came with but thought you guys could help out in the meantime

if it is designed for use as a backup camera, it should just use 12 volts straight. you may want to check your wiring. being that it is an intermittents problem it may be a loose ground or possibly some water shorting it out.
